Malabrigo Merino Worsted
Malabrigo Merino Worsted
Malabrigo Merino Worsted is the original 'Worsted' thickness wool that made the Malabrigo brand known all over the world. Stitches are defined beautifully, there is a huge choice of colors and wool is incredibly soft. The wool can also be used for felt projects, for example for the felted slippers by Arne & Carlos. The wool is traditionally dyed in kettles. The wool is single thread and therefore wools up quickly.
Ideal for smaller projects that you can wash by hand such as hats, collars and gloves and for accessories that are worn next to the skin because the wool is so soft.
Each dye bath is different, so order enough for your entire project right away. For some colors (especially multi-colors), the strands are also different within one dye bath. For an even distribution of the colors, it is best to work with 2 balls and then change balls every few rows.
In recent years, Malabrigo has focused more on washable wool such as Rios. As a result, the worsted wool is rarely available and we cannot replenish our stock.
