Verano is the new cotton yarn from Malabrigo. The yarn is 100% Pima cotton.

Pima cotton is qualitative cotton comparable to Egyptian cotton.

Pima cotton is distinguished from ordinary cotton by the strength and length of the fibre. The fiber of Pima cotton is much stronger than that of regular cotton. The fibers are 35% longer. This results in a softer, stronger cotton with a beautiful shine. Pima cotton is the softest and strongest type of cotton. It is named after an American Indian tribe: they were the first to cultivate this cotton plant on a large scale. Pima cotton fabrics are durable and of high quality. The cotton is originally grown in America, but now also in Peru and Australia.

Due to the extra fiber length, Pima cotton absorbs color better and the color stays beautiful longer. Pima cotton is also more sustainable than regular cotton. The production is less harmful to the environment, making it one of the most environmentally friendly types of cotton.
